- It creates a virtual MAC address for the application or shows it.
- You give that MAC address to your IPTV service provider.

Enter the portal URL in STBemu Settings → Servers. - The app loads the full interface (channels, vod, epg) similar to Mag box.
This MAC-to-portal relationship is the foundation of the Stalker Portal IPTV architecture. The portal is a middleware layer such as Ministra or the previous systems (commonly Ministra). Once the free trial has expired, the MAC is inactive on the server and no changes will need to be made to the app.
STBemu is available for free in Google Play. The portal URL is usually of the form: http://yourprovider.com/c/
IPTV Xtream Codes: The Username and Password Path
IPTV Xtream (or Xtream Codes API) is a totally distinct protocol. It does not use a MAC address; it uses a username/password/URL to the server. Currently, it is the most popular IPTV format available, and it can be supported by such applications as Tivimate, IPTV Smarters, GSE Smart IPTV, and dozens of other apps.
A typical Xtream connection string is as follows:

Password: yourpassSome providers will also be able to send an M3U playlist URL with embedded credentials:

So which should you use – Stalker Portal or Xtream?
These two protocols are both stable and widely used. This will rely on the provider’s support as well as your device.

If your provider also provides both, Xtream will be easier to install on multiple devices. STBemu and Stalker Portal provides a more organized set-top-box-like experience along with an integrated portal UI.
How to Request and Test a Free Trial IPTV Subscription
The majority of the providers of IPTV services provide a trial period in one of three ways:
- Contact form or Telegram bot — you enter the name of the device and in a few minutes you get the credentials.
- Automated panel — account is created and the trial begins instantly.
- Reseller — one who obtains trial credentials from a third party’s panel.
During your free trial IPTV testing period, look for three things: channel zapping (less than 3 seconds is good), buffering rate of channels during peak times (evenings, weekends) and VOD load time. These are three of the most reliable indicators for predicting long-term service quality in addition to channel count.
The Truth Behind IPTV Trials
A free trial is a tool — not a guarantee. Performance of the server in a trial period may not be the same as in daily operation. Test on various occasions of the day. If you have both STBemu Stalker Portal access and Xtream, you should try it both and compare the stability.
